Measure 5-307

Vote YES on Measure 5-307 – Support Rainier Cemetery District

Rainier Cemetery District has faithfully served our community for generations,
maintaining 12 cemeteries that span 37 acres and 25 miles. Measure 5-307 is not a
new tax—it’s a continuation of the current levy that helps keep these sacred grounds
cared for and accessible to all.

If approved, this measure will simply continue the existing funding when the current levy
expires on July 1, 2026, ensuring there is no increase in your taxes.
Without this measure, the district could be forced to raise prices for burials, plots, and
niches, reduce staff and hours, and scale back maintenance—leading to overgrown
grounds and reduced service to families who rely on these cemeteries.

Your support helps cover essential costs for operations, including modest wages for
three employees and necessary expenses such as retirement contributions (PERS),
taxes, and insurance. The district currently operates responsibly, with $112,916 in base
tax revenue and $73,835 from the current levy—funds that are fully dedicated to
preserving and maintaining our local cemeteries with respect and care.

By voting YES on Measure 5-307, you’re helping maintain the dignity, beauty, and
history of our community cemeteries—without raising taxes.
